Etcheverry Hall is a building on the UC Berkeley campus, part of the UC Berkeley College of Engineering, named after Denise Etcheverry, its main benefactor, daughter of Martial Etcheverry, California business mogul and philanthropist. Etcheverry Hall at University of California Berkeley. Built in 1964, it is located on the north side of Hearst Avenue, across the street from the main campus. It houses the departments of mechanical, industrial, and nuclear engineering. The basement of the building once housed a research nuclear reactor, the Berkeley Research Reactor. The reactor was later removed, and the underground space was used when neighboring Soda Hall was built for computer science in 1994.
